I have been looking into so-called “photographic memory” and finding it quite interesting. There are some people that can remember the date they watched a television show (very few, 11 so far). However, experiments have shown now that they are just as susceptible to false memories as anyone else.
If someone tells you that they can remember a page in a book just by looking at it, try this: give them a paragraph to look at and when they are ready take it away from them and ask them to read it backwards. They won’t be able to but if they could really take a photograph of the page in their heads they would be able to.
