A prominent Harvard scholar offers journalists insights on how to cover racism and when they should use the term “racist.”

AP (American Press news service) has recently updated its style guide to encourage their authors to use the term “racist” rather than less accurate terms like “racially charged.”  

This interview with Professor Muhammad investigates the the rationale of this change.
